I had the great pleasure of hosting Sonja Haerkoenen and Nigel Morgan during their week in Finland. Here are some highlights from their busy schedule.
Mon, April 13. Arrive in Finland. Welcome dinner in New York.
Tue, April 14. Visits to Nettinysse, Metso and Tampere University Library.

Nigel and Sonja got excited about the whole Nettinysse concept introduced to us by Elina Harju.
Heini Pelkonen introduced Nigel and Sonja to the exceptional architecture of Raili and Reima Pietilä.

In Tampere University Main Library (Linna), Sonja and Nigel met with Johanna Tevaniemi, Anne Lehto and Janika Asplund - all very much involved in IL education.
Wed, April 15. Tampere library seminar and a visit to Näsinneula.

Thu, April 16. Helsinki tour, with a visit to Library 10. Creativity seminar presentation.

Mr. Kari Lämsä told Nigel and Sonja about the exceptional concept of Library 10.
Nigel and Sonja finished their day with a presentation on the Cephalonian method, where anything can happen.
Fri, April 17. Visits to Aralis and Helsinki University Undergraduate Library.
The morning started with a visit to the University of Art and Design Library, where Eila Rämö gave us a tour.
Jukka Halttunen from the Arabianranta library had to answer some pretty difficult questions.
Matti Hjerppe and Nicola Nykopp were more than happy to talk about the new plans for the Helsinki University Central Campus Library 2012.
